Smiles 4 Miles

Case Study 2 : Smiles 4 Miles

The East Gippsland Primary Care Partnership wanted an interactive performance to teach the importance of dental hygiene to pre-school children in remote areas based on the iconic characters “Water Boy”, “Munch Girl” and “Brush Boy”.  The “Smiles 4 Miles” show was developed featuring catchy songs that the children could sing along to, games and lessons to teach the values of proper dental hygiene. The three characters were represented by larger than life actors wearing unique, colourful costumes.

The program was rolled out in over 30 remote preschool centres and was toured to the Melbourne conference of Smiles for Miles and was a featured performance at the Knox City Children’s Day.

A CD of the songs was sent to the schools and currently funding is being sourced to create a DVD of the program.
